The five second rule basically states that if you drop something edible (so long as it's not all dribbly and mushy like ice cream or something), then as long as you pick it up again within five seconds, it's still okay to eat.
Unless you dropped it in mud or toxic waste or something, which would just be gross.
Oh, that's wonderful to know!! ...*stares at cookie on the ground* ...It's been about fifteen minutes or so, but... do you think I can still apply the five second rule to it? *obviously doesn't get it*
