The sordid story of my day yesterday...
... and it's a doozy.
Turns out that AT&T acted like complete and utter morons. When dad went to pay our cable modem bill for this month, some schmuck there apparently didn't READ the check and applied it to our _CABLE_ bill. Yesterday rolls around and AT&T thinks that we have not paid our cable modem bill. Therefore, they cut us OFF. Yesterday at about _8 am_, dad gets everything worked out, and they say that we'll be connected again after midnight. He also gets a free month out of the deal. Meanwhile, I quite literally stew, and do _something_ all day, bleh. Midnight rolls around, STILL no connection. I of course am hardly ready to sleep, so I write a little Mat-Out-In-The-World story which shall follow. I eventually get tired and go to bed. I wake up from the phone at about 9:30 this morning... and there's STILL no connection. Dad says that he called and they said that we wouldn't have a connection until MONDAY. At this point, I am losing whatever sanity I have left. I am so desperate I am ready to search for AOL trial disks. And that's pretty DAMN desperate. Then mom discovers that the connection's back up. They set it up yesterday and the moron this MORNING didn't know about it, apparently, so he gives us all heart attacks. And I get 247 e-mails from my over 24 hours of unavailibility.
I was worried everyone would think I was dead. :P
And now I get to put up today's comic. :P
