Random Ramblings
Hrm. I actually don't have anything in particular to say. So why am I writing in my journal? Well, cuz I felt like it, really. So. Let's see how much I can say when I don't have anything to say at all. I hope it's a lot. Cuz that'd just be weird.
Well. I leave on vacation in 12 days. It's gonna be rather odd this year, because my younger brother isn't going with us. He's working two jobs, and decided that he wants to stay and continue making money. Whatever. It'll be rather odd going on the yearly trip without him being there.
And then in 13 days I'm arriving in Austin. Bwee. Preparing for the big hoo-bah in 14 days. And no, hoo-bah is not a word, but do I care? Not particularly. I mean, if 'D'oh' can make the Oxford English Dictionary... *ponder* I'm still waiting for 'grom' to make it.
grom: [grom]: n.: grin
v.: to grin
grommy: [grom'i]: adj.: whatever you want it to mean. Generally good, though.
It would be so cool to see. But I digress.
Justin's off in dad's room watching music videos of some sort. I can't actually understand where the MUSIC is involved, as it sounds more like someone making a bunch of belching noises, but... to each their own, right?
I really need to get new batteries for my CD player before I go on vacation. Mental note. Oui.
We have this salve that an old friend of my now-deceased grandparents made.... like.. years ago. I think the stuff predates me. But day-am, the stuff works. It's almost spooky. And nobody really knows what's IN the stuff. I think it's alien technology. Yeah.
August 4, I get to see Les Mis. For the first time. At long last. It's my latest obsession. I tend to enjoy my obsessions. And I've heard very very good things about the touring cast. And at least I know that the musical treats the story in the book with a bit of respect. I do so love the book. The musical, granted, had to make some cuts, but... it's no '98 Liam Neeson movie. THAT thing was SO not Les Miserables, it's rather frightening. I watched it, and ended up laughing in complete and utter disbelief. It was like... What HAPPENED to the PLOT that I liked? Seriously, I could devote like an entire post JUST to the downfalls of this movie. Suffice to say, the people responsible for it missed Victor Hugo's point entirely. Although Geoffrey Rush did make a fairly good Javvy. For what he was given, anyway. *mutters incoherently* Tying Marius up in an alley. HONESTLY....
I just got a new e-mail! Let's see what it says...Oh, blah. Just some mailing list stuff that I'm not gonna read. Oh well.
My parents are off helping my eldest brother and his wife move. I thought I was gonna help, too, but they didn't wake me up. Oh well. I'll live. I really do like their new house. It's nifty and neato, and I swear, their backyard, there's this area after you go through some trees into this little empty clearing, and when the sun's setting, you feel like you're in a fantasy novel. It's excessively cool.
Woot. Kiwi just connected to the Weave. There was SOMETHING I was going to tell her, but I have completely and utterly forgotten what it was. Hmmmmm. I'll probably think of it eventually. Ohwell.
Amy and I were amusing ourselves rather interestingly last night. We were on XFM paging Les Mis to each other one line at a time. We started with a tad bit of Thenardier trying to blackmamil Marius with info about Jean Valjean, and then we jumped back to the end of the robbery, and then went straight through Javvy's intervention, Stars, Eponine's Errand, and most of Red and Black before Amy had to go. :P Near the end of Javvy's Intervention, we started adding facial expressions and actions to the lyrics we were paging. And then we started with the requisite costume changes whenever we were singing a different character. It was fairly crazy. :P
But remarkably fun. Really.
Oh! I suddenly remembered what I wanted to tell Kiwi!
There. I told her. All is good.
I think Justin's watching SportsCenter now. DAYAM, the Cubs are just rocking now. This year, it's been insanely good to be a Cubs fan. Yaaaaaaaaaay, Cubbies! All the way! WOOOOOT!
Ahem.
Okay. I think I'll close this up now. I've said a remarkable amount for not having anything to say, haven't I? :P
