Random thoughts.

Concerning the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Okay. On the first day, your true love gives you a partridge in a pear tree. Cool. Interesting gift, but.. cool enough.

Second day, your true love gives you two turtle doves... okay... AND ANOTHER PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. So after the second day, you have two turtle doves, and two partridges in two pear trees.

This could get awkward.

This idiotic 'true love' continues in this vein...

So by the end of the twelve days of Christmas... You have the following

Twelve drummers drumming,
Twenty-two pipers piping,
Thirty lords a-leaping,
Thirty-six ladies dancing,
Forty maids a-milking,
Forty-two swans a-swimming,
Forty-two geese a-laying,
Foooortyyyyy gooooolden riiiiiiiiiiiiings...
Thirty-six calling birds,
Thirty French hens,
Twenty-two turtle doves...
AND TWELVE PARTRIDGES IN TWEEELVE PEAAR TREEES...

Okay, wow, either you live on a farm, or your true love thinks you have a bird fetish.

Besides, you'd have to sell off all the golden rings, and probably a good chunk of the goose eggs and birds and stuff to pay all the maids, ladies, lords, pipers, drummers, etc....

All in all... Your true love is a LUNATIC.

That is all, thank you.

...

I love you. XD

Way to ponder the purpose of a plentitude of partridges plus pears. :D

The swans and the geese are the Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything!

Well, nowadays I guess you'd get rid of that on e-bay. Except for the drummers, pipers, lords and ladies; you could use them to put up a rival show to Riverdance...

Did you know that was actually a "code" song that was written by Catholics during the Protestant Revolution in the English Renaissance? Or maybe it was during the English Civil War... Um. Let's see. Oh, lookie. (http://www.athomeschool.com/unitstudy/christmas_symbols_20.htm)

So the partridge in the pear tree is Jesus, the French hens are Faith, Hope, and Charity, the four calling birds are the four Gospels, the six geese a-laying are the days of creation, and the seven swans a-swimming are the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, etc. Still, this brings up the question of why you'd ever need twelve Jesuses.

You're weird.

You know that this means your true love is a stalker and you should clearly get a restraining order.

Random-er:
The ones I remember
Partidge= Jesus
Turtledoves= New/Old Testament (I THINK. I might not be right with that)
French Hens= Father, Son, Holy Spirit
Calling Birds= Gospels
Gold Rings= I can't remember this one. But! Have you seen Eddie Izzard's sketch on it? SO FUNNY. I die.
Drummers= Apostles

I know the rest, but I forget. This is what happens when your mum teaches religious education. You get all this stuff stuck in your brain. Even though like... half of it disappeared over the past year. But it'll come back soon, I'm sure.
