... Before I leave for Jackson. Which is before I leave TOMORROW for... AAAAAAAAH DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Ummmmmmmmm. Okay. What do I have to say.

This is so belated. But. They're up! As ALWAYS, the one of mine that got remixed ended up like eighty times better in the remixing. SO GO READ IT..

As for the one I wrote... I like it, although I was a little bit worried about it, because it seemed... I dunno. Kinda... Actually, if I state my main objection to it, it really kinda gives it away, which I don't want to do. BUT. I've gotten more than ONE piece of feedback. And positive feedback at that, so it seems that my recipient enjoys it, which is good, and even if she was just being polite (XD), a couple other people who WEREN'T obligated replied too. So hah. Or something.

That being said, I'll not be around, I don't think, for the reveals. BUT I promise to properly thank my author when I get back (next Thursday), and also reply to feedback at that point in time. Bwee.

Um... Anything else, anything else... I dunno.

I doubt it.

Spohali, I'm gonna send you a going away e-mail because I'm lame like that. Keep an eye out.

Of course the beauty of our timing here is that I'm going to be missing practically EVERY SEASON FINALE EVER. (Except House. Thank God the AI finale is gonna be pushing that back, because I had a conundrum as to whether to tape it or DWTS. That was just CRUEL.)

SO. I have SPN and both DWTS eps set to tape. Barring any catastrophe, I should be able to watch them. The odds of my managing to avoid spoilers when I get back are kinda slim, but c'est la vie.

Oh. But I WILL be voting for Joey from my cell. In Disney World. On the Pacific Time voting schedule. Because my area code. Yes. BUT I WON'T BE ABLE TO VOTE ONLINE.

I was bored, I wanted to write something. Angie suggested Tan/Joffy.

This was inordinately wrong.

But I did say I'd write the first prompt I got.

203 words. Tan/Joffy ficlet. I'm sorry to both Tan and Joffy. )

Anyway! I can now publicly cheer and also step out a bit myself.

First thing's first, and once more, major cheers for [livejournal.com profile] glendaglamazon, for writing the lovely Grow for me for DWNOGA. And thanks again again to [livejournal.com profile] paceus for hitting me up with Pearl Earrings for Yuletide.

.... Insane as that month was, I want it to be November again so I can do it again!

Anyway, and now I can finally reveal that I am the one responsible for the punk!*NSYNC!JoeC story, In the News, written for [livejournal.com profile] madame_d, as far as DWNOGA goes.. (I'd say I wrote it, but really, it half ended up writing itself. XD) And so far as yuletide is concerned, I wrote Tales In the Sand for [livejournal.com profile] sweetsorcery. Thankfully, both recipients liked their stories, so that made me a happy individual.

And utter thanks for everyone who sent feedback and/or recced one of 'em. I think between both stories, that was probably the most feedback I've ever gotten in a week for anything ever. XD

Is it November yet? XD
dizmo: (other - lemming)
Okay. Everyone else is doing it! ;)

If you correctly guess which SeSa (or Yuletide! Although that would be significantly harder!) story I wrote, I'll write you a ficlet.

... IF YOU ALREADY KNOW, YOU TOTALLY DON'T GET TO GUESS. Because that's cheating. And I know if you know! So there! Or something!

Anyway, comments are screened, have at, although I dunno if anyone's gonna take me up on it. XD

[livejournal.com profile] yuletide fics are up!

And my story, Pearl Earrings, wins on muchos levels.

It's Discworld! And it's Watch!centric! And SUSAN's even in it! And it's lovely.

It seems as if it cuts off a bit early, before the CASE gets resolved! Wah! Which actually still kinda works as a slice of Watch life thing. I hope for my Santa's sake that there wasn't something wrong in the uploading process, because that is extremely frustrating. Not that I would at ALL complain if I eventually got more story. =D
dizmo: (chris - christmas)
Okay! So, I go to work for an incredibly hectic day in ye olde retail.

And I come home to two happy discoveries.

1. My recipient likes my story. So that makes me :)

2. My story, Grow, is ... really, incredible win. Cute, and sweet, and funny in all the right places, and Landscaper!Sync! I mean, really, how can you say no to that?!!

So! DWNOGA was an utter success.

Now I get to go dig into more. And then Yuletide tomorrow. My cup runneth over!
dizmo: (firefly - hero of canton)
Yuletide done and successfully posted last night.

SeSa done and successfully posted about twenty minutes ago.

Allow me to say that I love my SeSa beyond all reason, and I just hope that my recipient is as pleased with it as I am.

Also, oops, I just realized I never wrote a letter to my SeSa author. *guilts!!* But I'm fairly easy to please, so I'm sure I'll love whatever it is she came up with.

Anyway, off to finish getting ready for work. Nothing like working late to PUSH UP YOUR FIC CHALLENGE DEADLINES BY SEVEN HOURS...

Ahem. Anyway. ;)
dizmo: (nsync: group awwww)
So! Popslash remixes are up.

And just... wow.

First of all, the one thing that's always simultaneously awesome and a bit indignifying is the way the remixes I get always end up being better than ym stories... XD

But then, add that to the fact that one of the remixes is remixing the lovely SeSa I got in '04, that made me squee then and makes me squee again now...

... and the remix written for Rainee is remixing the silly little het birthday fic she wrote me for my 21st back in '01, in which I'm actually a character, albeit rather tangientially at this point, and, y'know, I feel kinda bad for getting in the way of the bittersweet slashy that was added....

... Dude. I'm one happy chick right here!

*dances around giggling*

Okay, so!

DWNOGA authors have been revealed!

So I can finally officially say that the person who owns my soul for writing Cracking the Love Code is the wonderful and amazing [livejournal.com profile] adelate. Who received no fewer than three pieces of feedback from me the day stories went live, not counting my journal post, and probably would have received more had I not willfully sat on my hands and told myself that spamming my writer's inbox is not the best sign of lurve. ;)

My own story, Five, for [livejournal.com profile] sarahq, I have mixed feelings about. She liked it, and I'm ever so relieved about that, but I almost wish I could have done the bunny a bit more justice. Unfortunately, I got said bunny a bit too late in the game to really give it the workover it, and she, deserved, but for my first attempt at GSF, I don't think I did all that badly with it. So there we are.

......... Is it time for SeSa '06 yet?

I read a certain BADfic Maja linked to.

And I couldn't get Snape to stop snarking about it in my head.

So I made him MST it. Because I win like that.

Yes. I did just use the feedback mechanism to send my SeSa author a ridiculously gushing and effusive bit of feedback. Because... Best thing I ever woke up to, probably. Really.

Cracking the Love Code.

My story. Written by someone who either speaks to me on a rather frequent basis... *peeeers at her friendslist*, has done an excellent job of stalking my journal, has spoken to people who speak to me on a rather frequent basis, or... is a ridiculously good guesser.

Because it's a BOOKSTORE AU.

I can totally and completely relate to very large chunks of the story.

Okay, although I have never gotten asked out by a hot customer. Yet. Bah.

Justin's life story! Through self-help books!

That stupid book that you thought you had but isn't in the system!

Manging to find it and doing a mental self-congratulatory dance while you hold it proudly over your head!

Those 'just browsing' people!

Andthentheywentbowling. Which is just SO CUTE. AAAAAAAAAAAH.

This is me in a transport of delight.

So go read. Like now. Don't stop. The end. Yes.

*flail around happylike*
dizmo: (df - never know)
Just over an hour left, and SeSa finally submitted.

That was... definitely a different experience than any year I'd done it up until now. I didn't even have a half-living bunny until, like, a week ago. And nothing really concrete until, like, the last couple days. I almost feel bad for it, and the story is shorter than most of my previous ones (although, I think, not all), but... I actually like it.

I surprised myself on this one, and there are definitely some bits that I'm actually pretty impressed with, so I just hope that my recipient likes it, and that it's at least pretty close to what she wanted. :)

If she didn't... well, I did my best with something I didn't think I'd be able to do at all, so.. yay to that. Or something.

And now I head to bed. ;)
dizmo: A simplified blob-like illustration of me. (Default)
Well, not just thinking. As I was thinking it last night.

But I'm thinking it again now.

If there isn't already, there should be a crossover fic written in which Captain Jack Sparrow... is a Hogwarts alum. I mean.. I can totally see it.

If it's been written, I totally wanna read it. If it hasn't... I wan't someone to write it for me! *big cute puppy eyes*

I'd totally write it myself, but I've already got, like, three fics in progress.
dizmo: (nsync: chris such a geek)
WITR authors are revealed!

That being said...

[livejournal.com profile] silveryscrape? You = my goddess. Period. End of sentence. I went over to your journal and cruised your regular postings on the ARGH of writing it, so I just wanna say... So worth it. Like I said in my original squee, you wrote the story better than I did. And as such, I'm actually GLAD that you totally revamped the tone and such, because had you written a silly fluffy JC-tentacle story just like mine, only THAT well... I woulda felt so lame. :b And you kept it just recognizable enough that I went all squee anyway. So yes. Thank you thank you thank you!

As for the one I wrote, for [livejournal.com profile] withdiamonds, Lance Went Down to Georgia (The Can't Have Bubbles Mix).. I'm very very glad you liked it. I thought it was cute, but I was kinda worried it wouldn't be, I dunno, substantial enough. So when I saw you enjoyed it... Huge weight off my back, and now I can feel free to like it in its own right.

And, uh, that's all for now! Wheeha.
dizmo: (nsync: chris may be right)
Doing a bit of Easter reading....

And I can't help but think...

El-ahrairah/Rabscuttle! OMG! MFEO!!! OTP!!!!

Yeah. Lost my mind.
dizmo: (nsync: chris jubilation)
Ee. It's rather humbling when someone goes and writes your story better than you did. ;)

Yet really cool in that you get to go read a great-ass story!

So, I highly recommend going and reading the It Came From the Sky!!! (this is who we are at the end of the world remix).

Because it turns my silly little tentacle-JC story into.. a really really good, creepy-as-all-get-out, suspenseful story. With a Chris-POV, so I really won't complain about that one. ;)

But at any rate, what are you still doing HERE? You should go read! Go! Read!
dizmo: (nsync: chris wooo)
Woo! I finished my remix fic!

About... 40 minutes before I have to leave for work. And, yes, I will still be working during the deadline.

Thank God I like it, though.

Remixing is fun. The end.

Now I go take the dog outside.
